05BUILTENVIRONMENTIn the last 10 years the firm had established itself within the city’s $668.7 million bondprojects in 2016. The El Paso Times reported the proposal as “the largest bond everproposed in the county” and that voters had approved a tax increase to close nineschools and consolidate them. Morton said that proposal led to the El Paso Independent School District or EPISDrequest for qualifications that got them hired to design the $38.3 million consolidationof Collins Elementary School and Terrace Hills Middle School. The completed projectwas the Bobby Joe Hill PK-8 School. DPS as of recent helpedcomplete another school projectfor the EPISD district, Irvin HighSchool, with the New Mexicobased general contractor HBConstruction. HB Constructionbroke ground on the Sandia BaseElementary School, anAlbuquerque Public Schoolproject, last April. “Locally here in El Paso, we haven’t necessarily worked with all of the local largercontractors here but we’re building those relationships,” said Morton. Morton said that although DPS has seized these public-school projects, they’re lookingto also dip into El Paso’s health care and multifamily sectors as these are “two of ourareas of expertise that we’re hoping to grow in this market and we see opportunitieshere to do so.” Irvin High School, a 154432 square renovation and replacement completed in 2022 by Dekker Perich Sabatini and HB Construction. The total — $30.5billion – marked the second consecutive half-year period where the world experienced anapproximately 50% slump in investment levels. This is the key finding of CBRE’s global realestate capital flows report for H1 2023.And while North America managed to eke out a5% increase in foreign capital inflows in the firsthalf, that was largely due to two individualtransactions from Asian investors, whichtotaled almost half the inflow. One was the $15 billion acquisition by GIC, aSingapore sovereign wealth fund, in partnershipwith Chicago-based Oak Street, of STORECapital completed in February. The second was“a large New York City office sector acquisitionby Japanese investors” that was likely the saleby SL Green of a 49.9% stake in Manhattan’s245 Park Avenue to Japan’s Mori Trust for $2billion.CONTINUE READING >Copyright: Canva ProTHURSDAY SEPTEMBER 7TH8:00 AM - 2:30 PM: COMMERCIAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT - CLICK HERETHURSDAY SEPTEMBER 14TH8:30 AM - 9:30 AM0 AM - 9:00 AM: CCIM NM BOARD MEETING - CLICK HEREWEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 20TH8:00 AM - 9:00 AM: LIN MARKETING MEETING - CLICK HERE
